YASKAWA CP-EXPIO
Product Name
CP-EXPIO CP-9200SH expansion I/O and external I/O interface module
Product Introduction
CP-EXPIO is treated as an expansion I/O interface option for the Yaskawa CP-9200SH controller platform. It extends local and remote digital/analog I/O capacity, connects additional I/O bases or external I/O networks, and exchanges process data with the CPU over the CP-9200SH backplane or designated I/O interface bus.
Detailed content
Technical Specifications
Compatible with CP-9200SH mounting bases and optional I/O modules, digital input/output support through modules such as LIO-01 with 32 inputs and 32 outputs, DI-01 with 64 inputs, DO-01 with 64 outputs, analog support through AI-01 with eight inputs and AO-01 with four outputs, counter support through CNTR-01 with four pulse inputs, backplane or interface-cable communication with the CPU, 24 V DC class I/O signaling on typical discrete modules, operating temperature 0 to 55°C, relative humidity 5 to 95% non-condensing, IP20 for cabinet-mounted modules.
Functional Features
Digital input scanning, digital output driving, analog input acquisition, analog output generation, high-speed counter and pulse input processing, I/O expansion through EXIOIF or compatible interface modules, fault detection for wiring and communication errors, LED status indication, parameter monitoring through CP-717.
Application Scenarios
Machine control panels, packaging lines, conveyor systems, assembly stations, printing machines, semiconductor equipment and CP-9200SH systems that require more discrete points, analog loops or high-speed counting than the local CPU I/O provides.
Performance Parameters
Deterministic I/O refresh under the CP-9200SH scan cycle, stable digital response for 24 V field devices, analog resolution according to the installed AI-01 or AO-01 module, counter operation for encoder or pulse-train inputs through CNTR-01, repeatable data exchange with CPU registers and motion modules.
Material Composition
FR4 I/O control boards, relay or transistor output stages where applicable, copper screw or connector contacts, molded or metal module housing, isolation components for analog and communication sections, LED indicators.
Structural Features
Modular I/O format for CP-9200SH base or expansion interface, removable terminal blocks or connector-style I/O ports, front-runner status LEDs, backplane or external-cable interface, labeled input/output channels, DIN or rack mounting depending on the base configuration.
Working Principle
Field devices send digital or analog signals to the input section. The expansion I/O module conditions and buffers these signals, transfers status data to the CPU through the backplane or I/O interface, executes output commands from the control program, drives actuators through digital or analog output channels, and reports wiring or communication faults to the controller.
Installation Requirements
Mount in a suitable CP-9200SH base, EXIOIF expansion base or compatible I/O enclosure, connect 24 V DC field power according to the module rating, use shielded cable for analog and high-speed signals, separate I/O wiring from servo power and main AC wiring, ground the cabinet and shields to a common ground point with resistance not exceeding 100 ohms where the CP-9200SH system specification applies, and verify I/O addressing before run mode.
Usage Notes
Do not mix incompatible I/O module versions without checking the base and firmware, avoid powering I/O circuits with incorrect voltage polarity, inspect terminal torque periodically, use surge protection for inductive loads, perform I/O forcing and simulation in CP-717 before connecting actual actuators, and follow the hot-swap or power-down replacement procedure defined for the installed base.
