- Wall-mount or pipe-mount installation option
Working Principle:
The J-type thermocouple generates a millivolt signal proportional to temperature. The transmitter measures this voltage, applies cold junction compensation using an internal precision temperature sensor, and linearizes the thermocouple characteristic curve using stored polynomial coefficients. The processed value is converted to a 4–20 mA DC output via a 16-bit D/A converter. HART communication uses FSK modulation (1200/2200 Hz) superimposed on the 4–20 mA signal for bidirectional digital data exchange.
Advantages:
- ±0.1% accuracy with excellent long-term stability
- NEMA 4X/IP66 enclosure — suitable for outdoor and washdown environments
- HART 7 enables full remote device management
- SIL 2 certified for safety instrumented functions
- Wide operating temperature range (-40°C to +85°C)
Applicable Industries:
- Oil and Gas (Refining, Pipeline, LNG)
- Chemical and Petrochemical
- Power Generation (Boiler, Steam, Turbine)
- Steel and Metals
- Food and Pharmaceutical
Installation Requirements:
- Mount using the pipe-mount bracket or wall-mount bracket (included)
- Use J-type thermocouple extension wire (JX or JIS grade)
- Keep the cable length under 100 m for best accuracy (or use compensated cable)
- Ground the transmitter housing to the plant grounding system
- Ensure the junction box is at a stable temperature for accurate CJC
Precautions:
- Verify thermocouple polarity — reversed polarity causes significant measurement error
- Do not expose the transmitter to temperatures exceeding +85°C ambient
- Maximum process temperature for J-type: +750°C continuous, +1200°C intermittent (max 1 hour)
- Ensure loop resistance ≤ 600 Ω at the operating voltage
