YOKOGAWA UT55A000-11-00

Product Introduction:
The UT55A000-11-00 is a single-loop digital indicating controller from Yokogawa’s UT55A series. It is the most basic configuration of the UT55A family, providing process variable indication only with no control output, no alarm outputs, and no communication. The model code 000-11-00 decodes as: 000 = basic type, 11 = DC 4–20 mA input, 00 = no output option.

Functional Features:

  • Large 5-digit LED display for clear process variable reading from a distance
  • Scalable display range — configurable engineering units (°C, °F, psi, kPa, %, etc.)
  • Two-setpoint comparison with front-panel LED indicators (HIGH/LOW) — visual alarm indication only (no relay output)
  • Simple operation — 4 push-buttons for navigation and setpoint adjustment
  • Universal input type — selectable via DIP switches on PCB

Material Composition:

  • Front BezelPolycarbonate (UL94 V-0), black matte finish
  • Rear HousingABS + PC blend, flame retardant
  • Terminal Block: Phosphor bronze, tin-plated, screw-clamp type
  • PCBFR-4, conformal coated

Structural Features:

  • 96 × 96 mm square front panel (1/8 DIN)
  • 79 mm depth behind panel — shallow mount design
  • Screw-clamp terminals — wire size: 0.5–2.5 mm² (AWG 20–14)
  • IP66 front — dust-tight and water-jet resistant

Working Principle:
The DC 4–20 mA input signal is converted to a digital value via a 16-bit A/D converter. The microprocessor scales the raw value to engineering units using user-configurable upper range value (URV) and lower range value (LRV). The result is displayed on the 5-digit 7-segment LED. Two setpoints are compared against the PV for visual HIGH/LOW indication via LEDs on the front panel.

Advantages & Highlights:

  • Lowest cost option in the UT55A family — ideal for simple indication applications
  • Large display — readable from 10+ meters in industrial settings
  • No configuration required for basic operation — plug and play
  • Wide power supply range — 100–240 V AC or 24 V DC

Applicable Industries:

  • HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning)
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Simple process monitoring where no control action is required
  • OEM equipment requiring local display
  • Pump stations and utility monitoring

Installation Requirements:

  • Panel cutout: 92 mm × 92 mm (for 96 × 96 mm bezel with gasket)
  • Mounting depth clearance: ≥ 80 mm behind panel
  • Connect input using shielded twisted pair — shield grounded at controller end only
  • Power supply: ensure stable voltage within specified range

Usage Precautions:

  • This model has NO control output — do not use for closed-loop control
  • Do not exceed 250 Ω input burden — will cause measurement error
  • Do not apply voltage to input terminals — input is current-only (4–20 mA)
  • Reset to factory defaults by holding SET button for 10 seconds if configuration is lost
  • Operating temperature must not exceed +50°C — derate or use UT35A for higher temps
