Yokogawa UR5AG3-500N-1S E-2SA-N

Working Principle: The UR5AG3 uses an electromechanical pen-drive system. Input signals (voltage, current, thermocouple, RTD) are converted by internal circuitry and drive a servo motor with pen arm across a moving chart paper. The pen deflects proportionally to the input signal, creating a continuous analog trace. The chart paper advances at selectable speeds (25mm/h to 600mm/h). Alarm contacts close when input exceeds preset thresholds.

Applicable Industries:

  • Water & Wastewater Treatment
  • HVAC & Building Automation
  • Food & Beverage Processing
  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
  • Chemical Plants (Non-hazardous areas)
  • Power Generation (Auxiliary Systems)

Advantages & Highlights:

  • Pure analog recording — no data loss during power failure
  • 3-channel simultaneous recording on 500 mm wide chart
  • Built-in alarm contacts — no external relay required
  • Wide input compatibility (Type E) — accepts TC, RTD, mA, V, and contact inputs
  • Mechanical reliability — proven technology with decades of field service
  • Legal record — paper chart serves as tamper-proof documentation

Installation Requirements:

  • Mount on flat vertical surface using M4 screws (2 points) or DIN rail (if adapter available)
  • Ensure adequate ventilation — minimum 50 mm clearance on top and sides
  • Connect field signals to rear terminal block — observe correct polarity
  • Set chart paper speed and pen zero before operation
  • Configure alarm setpoints using front panel knobs

Usage Precautions:

  • Replace ink pen cartridges regularly (typically every 6–12 months depending on usage)
  • Use only Yokogawa Type 2SA chart paper — other sizes will not feed correctly
  • Do not operate in environments exceeding +50°C or below 0°C
  • Clean pen tip with approved solvent if recording becomes faint
  • Backup critical data digitally — paper charts degrade over time
