Functional Features:

  • 8A continuous output current at 24V DC — sufficient to power multiple F3 I/O modules in a single carrier
  • Dual-redundant architecture — two identical power supply units operate in parallel; diode-OR logic ensures seamless automatic switchover with zero interruption upon primary unit failure
  • Wide input voltage range (100–240V AC) — compatible with global power grids without external transformers
  • Active PFC (Power Factor Correction) — input power factor ≥0.95, reducing harmonic distortion
  • Built-in fan with thermal management — fan speed controlled by internal temperature sensor for optimal noise/cooling balance
  • Comprehensive protection suite — OCP trips at >10A, OVP activates at >26.4V, SCP auto-recovers after fault removal, OTP reduces output at >85°C internal temperature
  • Remote monitoring — output voltage, output current, input voltage, fan status, and fault status available via F3 Bus to the control engineer station

Structural Features:

  • Front panel with LED indicators: Power ON (green), Fault (red), Redundancy OK (green)
  • Rear connector for F3 I/O carrier backplane connection
  • Terminal block for AC input wiring (L, N, PE)
  • Terminal block for DC output wiring (24V+, 0V/GND)
  • Internal fan with dust filter for forced-air cooling
  • Conformal-coated PCB and metal shielding for EMI immunity
  • DIN rail / carrier backplane dual mounting capability

Working Principle:

AC mains power enters the module through the input terminal block and is rectified, filtered, and converted to regulated 24V DC via a high-frequency switch-mode power supply (SMPS) topology. Two identical SMPS units operate in parallel. Their DC outputs are connected through Schottky diode-OR circuits to the common 24V DC bus. Under normal conditions, both units share the load current. If one unit fails (overcurrent, overvoltage, or internal fault), its output diode becomes reverse-biased, and the surviving unit instantly supplies 100% of the load current with no voltage dip or interruption. The F3 carrier continuously monitors output voltage; any deviation beyond ±1% triggers a redundancy fault alarm.

Advantages & Highlights:

  • True zero-gap redundancy — diode-OR architecture eliminates any switchover transient
  • High power capacity (192W) — supports densely populated I/O carriers
  • Wide AC input range (100–240V) — no external transformer required for global deployment
  • Active PFC — meets IEC 61000-3-2 harmonic current limits
  • Low output ripple (≤50mV p-p) — ensures stable operation of precision analog I/O modules
  • Comprehensive built-in protections — eliminates need for external fuses in most cases
  • Hot-swap capable — replacement without powering down the DCS

Applicable Industries:

  • Oil & Gas — offshore platforms, onshore refineries
  • Chemical & Petrochemical — continuous process plants
  • Power Generation — thermal, nuclear, combined-cycle plants
  • Water & Wastewater — treatment plants, pumping stations
  • Pharmaceutical & Biotech — GMP-compliant facilities
  • Mining & Metals — remote process control stations

Installation Requirements:

  • Install in dedicated power supply slot of F3 I/O carrier (F3AIO/F3DIO)
  • Ensure dedicated AC circuit with proper circuit breaker rated at ≥10A
  • Connect protective earth (PE) to control system ground bus — mandatory
  • Use 1.5mm² to 4mm² (AWG 14–12) copper wire for DC output terminals
  • Maintain minimum 10mm air gap above and below module for fan airflow
  • Verify redundant pair configuration in CS 3000 before commissioning

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not exceed 8A total output current — overcurrent will trigger OCP and shut down the module
  • Do not parallel multiple F3RZ82-0F modules beyond the carrier’s rated slot count — follow Yokogawa carrier load tables
  • Clean internal fan filter every 6 months in dusty environments
  • Do not block airflow vents — overheating will trigger OTP and reduce output
  • Replace module only with identical F3RZ82-0F to maintain redundancy integrity
  • Verify AC input voltage before energizing — input outside 100–240V range will damage the module
