Working Principle: The DR231 receives a universal process signal (voltage, current, thermocouple, or RTD) through its terminal blocks. The signal is conditioned, linearized, and A/D converted internally. The processed value is displayed on the 5-digit LED display and compared against 3 programmable alarm setpoints. When the process value exceeds or falls below an alarm setpoint (with configured hysteresis), the corresponding alarm relay output activates. The device continuously stores trend data in internal memory and transmits data via RS-485 Modbus RTU protocol to a SCADA system or DCS. The event output records state changes with timestamps.

Advantage Highlights:

  • Universal input eliminates need for multiple device types
  • Compact 96 × 96 mm DIN-rail design saves panel space
  • High-visibility LED display for outdoor/bright environments
  • Built-in trend recording eliminates need for separate chart recorder
  • RS-485 Modbus for easy integration with any SCADA/DCS
  • 3 independent alarms with hysteresis for reliable operation
  • Cost-effective alternative to full chart recorders
