SEW-EURODRIVE DFE32B

Product Name: DFE32B fieldbus option module for SEW frequency inverters and drive systems.
Product Introduction: DFE32B integrates SEW drives into industrial controller networks. It is supplied in PROFINET and PROFIBUS-DP variants, both designed for MOVITRAC B, MOVIDRIVE B and MOVIAXIS drive families.

Detailed content

Technical Specifications: PROFINET version uses external 24 VDC at X26, maximum 200 mA and 3.4 W, 2 x RJ45 with internal switch, 100 Mbit/s full duplex, PROFINET IO, HTTP diagnostics on port 80, SMLP on port 300, MAC vendor context 00:0F:69, GSD file for SEW DFE/DFS two-port modules. PROFIBUS-DP version uses 9.6 kBaud to 12 MBaud automatic detection, 9-pin D-sub connector, DP-V1 cyclic and acyclic data, status LEDs, and draws control power from the drive option slot.
Function Features: Daisy-chain Ethernet through dual RJ45 in the PROFINET version; DP-V1 parameter access and diagnostics in the PROFIBUS version; web diagnostics; MOVITOOLS MotionStudio commissioning through SMLP; direct slot installation in compatible SEW inverters.
Application Scenarios: PROFINET or PROFIBUS integration of SEW drive systems; real-time speed, torque and parameter control; diagnostic monitoring on automated production lines and conveyor systems.
Performance Parameters: 100 Mbit/s Ethernet in the PROFINET variant; up to 12 MBaud in the PROFIBUS variant; process data update determined by controller cycle and GSD/device configuration.
Material Composition: Printed circuit board with Ethernet or PROFIBUS transceivers, optical isolators, plastic option housing, metal or plated edge connector.
Structural Characteristics: Small option card with bus connector on the outer face, drive edge connector on the inner side, LED indicators for link/status, address setting by hardware switch or software according to protocol version.
Working Principle: The drive exchanges cyclic process data and acyclic parameter data with the PLC through the fieldbus interface; the option card converts drive internal values to network telegrams and returns control commands to the inverter controller.
Installation Requirements: Power down the inverter before inserting or removing the card; provide 24 VDC external supply at X26 only for the PROFINET version if required; load the correct GSD/GSDML file; connect shielded industrial Ethernet or PROFIBUS cable; set node address and termination according to network topology.
Usage Precautions: Incorrect PROFINET IP or PROFIBUS node address prevents drive recognition; missing PROFIBUS termination causes reflection and communication loss; never hot-plug the card with drive control power active; ensure grounding and EMC-compliant cable routing.
