Working Principle
The installed APC620 CPU board runs B&R Automation Runtime or the configured operating system. Ethernet ports handle programming, HMI and plant communication. The DVI-I interface sends video locally; with an SDL transmitter it sends compressed display data to remote Automation Panels. PCI cards execute fieldbus, I/O or specialized processing. CompactFlash or slide-in storage holds the system image, while the battery and optional SRAM preserve clock and retentive data.
Installation Requirements
Select a compatible APC620 CPU board, DDR2 module, heatsink, storage device and PCI cards before commissioning.
Supply 24 VDC ±25% through a fused industrial power circuit.
Mount the unit in an IP20 control cabinet with adequate ventilation for passive cooling.
Insert PCI cards fully and set any node, slot or address selectors according to Automation Studio.
Order the screw-clamp or cage-clamp 24 V terminal block separately if not supplied with the chassis.
Usage Notes
Do not operate with the orange cover open during normal running.
Verify CPU-board temperature rating because overall operating temperature is component-dependent.
Replace the Renata battery according to service life and disposal rules.
Confirm 10/100 Ethernet speed before connecting to gigabit-only network infrastructure.
