Yokogawa UT35-A13501-A/RET1/RLEX/SPD/Z

Product Series: UT35 Universal Indicating Controller

Product Introduction:
The UT35-A13501-A/RET1/RLEX/SPD/Z is a 1/8 DIN (96 × 48 mm) panel-mount universal controller with relay output, extended function, and specific configuration options. It accepts multiple input types and provides ON/OFF or PID control with relay and analog outputs. The suffix codes define: A13501 = input/output configuration, RET1 = relay output type, RLEX = extended relay function, SPD = serial communication option, Z = grounding terminal.

Detailed content

Working Principle:
The UT35 samples the input signal (TC, RTD, mV, mA, V, or frequency) via an internal ADC. The measured value is compared to the setpoint. For ON/OFF control, the relay activates when the process variable crosses the setpoint with configurable hysteresis. For PID control, the controller computes the output using proportional, integral, and derivative algorithms and drives the analog output accordingly.

Material Composition:

  • Front panel: Polycarbonate (flame retardant)
  • Case: ABS resin (UL94 V-0)
  • Terminal block: Glass-filled PBT, UL recognized

Advantages:

  • Universal input acceptance eliminates need for multiple controller types
  • Auto-tuning PID simplifies commissioning
  • 1/8 DIN size saves panel space
  • RS-485 communication enables SCADA integration
  • RET1 provides 2 SPDT relays for independent control and alarm

Applicable Industries:
Plastics, food processing, packaging machinery, HVAC, laboratory equipment, environmental monitoring, small-scale process control

Installation Requirements:

  • Cut panel opening to 92 × 45 mm
  • Secure with provided mounting clips
  • Connect input wiring to terminals per the A13501 configuration
  • Connect relay output to external loads — do not exceed 3 A per contact
  • Connect RS-485 A/B lines for SPD communication option
  • Connect Z terminal to clean earth ground

Usage Notes:

  • Use the front panel keys for initial setup; use RS-485 for advanced configuration
  • Auto-tuning should be performed with the process in normal operating conditions
  • Set hysteresis for ON/OFF control to prevent relay chattering
  • Verify input type selection matches the connected sensor before powering up
