YOKOGAWA UP55A-000-110

Manufacturer: Yokogawa Electric Corporation

Product Introduction:
The UP55A-000-110 is a 6-channel universal input paperless recorder from Yokogawa’s UP55A series. It is a 1/8 DIN (96 × 48 mm) panel-mount recorder designed for multi-channel data acquisition, display, recording, and alarm monitoring in industrial process environments. The “000” denotes 6 universal input channels, and “110” denotes 100–240 V AC power supply.

Detailed content

Measurement Principle:
The recorder uses high-speed A/D converters (24-bit) to digitize analog input signals from thermocouples, RTDs, DC voltage, DC current, and frequency sensors. Data is processed, displayed in real-time on the LCD, stored in internal NAND flash memory, and can be transmitted via RS-232C, RS-485, or Ethernet (Modbus TCP) to a host system.

Key Advantages:

  • 6 universal input channels in 1/8 DIN size — highest channel density in its class
  • Supports ALL major sensor types — TC, RTD, mA, V, frequency — no need for multiple recorders
  • Ethernet connectivity — remote monitoring via web browser without additional software
  • NAND flash memory — no moving parts, no paper, no ink
  • SD card backup — easy data archival and transfer
  • Batch recording function — ideal for batch process industries

Applicable Industries:

  • Chemical and Petrochemical Processing
  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
  • Food and Beverage (Batch Processes)
  • Power Generation
  • HVAC and Building Automation
  • Environmental Monitoring
  • Laboratory and R&D

Installation Requirements:

  • Cut panel opening to 92 × 44 mm for 1/8 DIN mounting
  • Secure with mounting clips or screws (provided)
  • Connect all input signals using appropriate thermocouple extension wire or shielded cable
  • For RS-485 communication: use shielded twisted-pair cable; terminate with 120 Ω resistor at the last device
  • For Ethernet: use Cat5e or higher cable; connect to a managed switch for best performance
  • Ground the recorder chassis to the panel ground bus

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not exceed the rated input voltage/current for any channel — this will damage the A/D converter
  • Use correct thermocouple type settings — mismatched type settings cause large errors
  • Perform cold junction compensation (CJC) verification periodically
  • Back up data to SD card before firmware updates
  • Do not block the ventilation slots on the top and bottom of the unit
  • Do not apply power with incorrect voltage — 110 = 100–240 V AC only
  • Replace the internal backup battery (if equipped) every 2 years to preserve clock and settings
