YOKOGAWA PSCDM024DCBAN

Product Introduction:
The PSCDM024DCBAN is a 24 V DC loop-powered power supply module from Yokogawa’s PSCDM series, designed specifically to provide regulated 24 V DC power to 2-wire transmitters in the FLXA product family. It converts AC mains power to a stable DC output suitable for powering field instruments in hazardous and non-hazardous areas.

Detailed content

Measurement Principle:
The unit accepts 100–240 V AC mains input, rectifies and filters the AC through an internal switching power supply, and delivers a regulated 24 V DC output to the 2-wire transmitter loop. The current drawn by the transmitter (4–20 mA) flows through the same pair of wires that carry the signal, enabling loop-powered (2-wire) operation.

  • Designed specifically for 2-wire FLXA transmitters — guaranteed loop drive compatibility
  • High efficiency switching power supply — minimal heat generation
  • Comprehensive protection — short circuit, overload, overvoltage, thermal
  • Hazardous area certified for Zone 2 / Div 2 installations
  • Compact form factor — saves panel space

Applicable Industries:

  • Oil and Gas (Hazardous Areas)
  • Chemical Processing
  • Refineries and Petrochemical Plants
  • Water and Wastewater
  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
  • Mining Operations

Installation Requirements:

  • Mount on 35 mm DIN rail or panel with adequate ventilation
  • Connect AC mains to L/N terminals — observe correct polarity
  • Connect DC output (+) to transmitter positive, (−) to transmitter negative
  • Ensure the total loop resistance (wire + transmitter) does not exceed 750 Ω
  • Verify grounding of the DIN rail and enclosure per local electrical codes
  • Maintain minimum 10 mm clearance for heat dissipation

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not connect DC output to AC mains — this will destroy the unit instantly
  • Do not exceed 40 mA total loop current
  • Verify output voltage is 24 V DC before connecting transmitter
  • Do not operate in temperatures above +60°C
  • Ensure proper fuse protection on the AC input side per local regulations
  • Do not disassemble — no user-serviceable parts inside
