Yokogawa PK200-A73/FF1/AM/SS

Product Introduction:
The PK200-A73/FF1/AM/SS is a smart pressure transmitter from Yokogawa’s renowned EJA series (EJA110E/EJA310E/EJA510E family). It measures gauge pressure, absolute pressure, or differential pressure with high accuracy and long-term stability. The model code specifies a 0–100 kPa gauge pressure range with a flush diaphragm (FF1)aluminum mounting bracket (AM), and stainless steel wetted parts (SS). The transmitter supports HART 7 and FOUNDATION Fieldbus (FF) communication protocols.

Operating Principle:
The silicon resonant sensor consists of a vibrating silicon diaphragm whose resonant frequency changes proportionally with applied pressure. The sensor is fabricated using MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology on a single silicon chip. The pressure applied to the Hastelloy C-276 diaphragm is transmitted through silicon oil fill fluid to the silicon resonant element. The change in resonant frequency is converted to a digital signal, linearized, temperature-compensated, and output as a 4–20 mA DC signal. The HART 7 protocol superimposes digital communication on the 4–20 mA loop for remote configuration and diagnostics. The flush diaphragm (FF1) design eliminates impulse lines, preventing clogging, freezing, or leakage in viscous, corrosive, or hygienic applications.

Advantages & Highlights:

  • Exceptional Accuracy±0.04% of URL — industry-leading for smart transmitters
  • Flush Diaphragm (FF1): Zero dead volume — ideal for sanitary, viscous, or crystallizing process fluids
  • Silicon Resonant Sensor: No drift over time — long-term stability of ±0.04% per year
  • Multivariable Capability: Simultaneous pressure and temperature output from a single transmitter

Applicable Industries:

  • Chemical & Petrochemical
  • Oil & Gas (Production/Refining)
  • Pharmaceutical & Biotech (Sanitary Applications)
  • Food & Beverage
  • Power Generation
  • Pulp & Paper
  • Semiconductor Manufacturing

Installation Requirements:

  • Mount the transmitter vertically with the pressure port facing upward for gas service or downward for liquid service
  • Use shielded twisted-pair cable; maximum cable length: 1500 m (depending on wire gauge)
  • Tighten flange bolts to 25 N·m torque using a torque wrench — do not over-tighten
  • Provide 24 V DC loop power with minimum 25 mA capacity
  • Ensure the flush diaphragm is fully exposed to the process fluid — no bypass piping

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not apply pressure exceeding 150 kPa (1.5 × URL) — permanent sensor damage may occur
  • Do not expose the transmitter to temperatures above +120 °C — silicon oil may degrade
  • For corrosive process fluids, verify SS316L compatibility — for stronger acids, consider Hastelloy C-276 wetted parts option
  • Perform zero calibration after installation — the mounting position may cause a static head offset
  • Do not disassemble the flush diaphragm assembly in the field — it is hermetically sealed
