Yokogawa NFDV161-P00

Full Model Number: NFDV161-P00

Product Introduction:
The NFDV161-P00 is a high-accuracy electromagnetic flowmeter from Yokogawa’s ADMAG product line, designed for continuous volumetric flow measurement of conductive liquids in process industries. It utilizes Yokogawa’s proprietary DPharp (Digital Phase Shift) technology for superior signal processing.

  • Integral or remote transmitter configuration
  • Empty pipe detection function built-in
  • Electrode cleaning system compatible

Working Principle:
Operates on Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction. A magnetic field is generated by coils in the sensor tube. As conductive fluid flows through the magnetic field, a voltage is induced proportional to the flow velocity. The DPharp digital signal processing eliminates noise and provides a stable, accurate signal even in low-flow or noisy electrical environments.

Advantages & Highlights:

  • No moving parts — zero pressure drop and no maintenance
  • DPharp technology provides 100:1 turndown ratio
  • Bidirectional flow measurement capability
  • Empty pipe detection prevents false readings
  • HART 7 and FOUNDATION Fieldbus for advanced diagnostics

Applicable Industries:

  • Water and wastewater treatment
  • Chemical and petrochemical processing
  • Food and beverage manufacturing
  • Pharmaceutical production
  • Pulp and paper industry
  • Mining and minerals processing

Installation Requirements:

  • Install in a full-pipe section with minimum 10D upstream and 5D downstream straight pipe (D = pipe diameter)
  • Ensure the sensor is always completely filled with liquid (no air pockets)
  • Ground the flowmeter separately from the process pipeline grounding
  • Use shielded twisted-pair cables for all signal connections

Usage Precautions:

  • Minimum fluid conductivity required: 5 μS/cm (≥ 20 μS/cm recommended for optimal accuracy)
  • Do not install in pipes with strong external electromagnetic interference without proper shielding
  • Perform zero-point calibration with the pipe fully filled and stationary fluid
  • For P00 configuration, verify liner material compatibility with process fluid at operating temperature
