Measurement Principle:
Operates on Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction. A magnetic field is generated across the flow tube, and the voltage induced across the electrodes by the moving conductive fluid is directly proportional to the flow velocity. The N-F series features low-frequency rectangular wave excitation optimized for water and wastewater conductivity ranges.

Installation Requirements:

  • Install in full-pipe conditions — the N-F series is NOT suitable for partially filled pipes
  • Maintain minimum 5D upstream and 3D downstream straight pipe
  • For wafer-type meters: install between matching flanges; use gaskets that do not protrude into the bore
  • For flanged meters: align flange bolt holes precisely; do not over-torque bolts
  • Ground the flowmeter and pipeline — essential for accurate measurement and noise rejection
  • Use shielded twisted-pair cable for all signal connections
  • Ensure the electrode axis is horizontal for sanitary/wastewater applications

Usage Precautions:

  • Never operate with an empty tube — this damages the rubber liner
  • In potable water applications, flush the meter with clean water before initial use
  • In wastewater with high solids content, install an upstream strainer (100 mesh minimum)
  • Clean electrodes monthly in heavily fouling wastewater; use soft brush and mild acid
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning tools on the electrode surfaces
  • Verify grounding periodically — poor grounding causes measurement drift
  • Do not exceed +80°C process temperature for rubber-lined models
