Working Principle:
The MW100-E receives digital data from a MotoHARP or SAW weight sensor via the dedicated digital interface. The sensor uses surface acoustic wave (SAW) or mechanical harmonic resonance technology to measure weight with high precision. The transmitter processes the digital signal using a 24-bit A/D converter, applies temperature compensation and zero calibration (Z function), and outputs a 4–20 mA DC signal proportional to the measured weight. FOUNDATION Fieldbus communication transmits the full weighing data set to the host DCS.
Advantages:
- ±0.02% FS accuracy — among the highest in the industry
- Digital sensor interface eliminates analog signal degradation
- Automatic zero calibration (Z) removes need for manual tare adjustments
- Dual output (FF + 4–20 mA/HART) ensures compatibility with all control systems
- SIL 2 rated for safety-critical weighing applications
Applicable Industries:
- Chemical and Pharmaceutical (batch weighing)
- Food and Beverage (ingredient weighing)
- Mining and Minerals (belt scale, hopper weighing)
- Cement and Building Materials
- Logistics and Bulk Material Handling
Installation Requirements:
- Mount the transmitter near the weight sensor (maximum 50 m cable length for digital sensor)
- Use shielded cable for the digital sensor connection
- Provide a stable 24 V DC power supply (Fieldbus or loop-powered)
- Ensure the mounting surface is vibration-free for accurate readings
- Ground the transmitter to the plant grounding system
Precautions:
- Use only Yokogawa MotoHARP or SAW compatible sensors — third-party digital sensors are not supported
- Do not exceed the maximum sensor excitation voltage of 10 V DC
- Perform periodic zero calibration using the Z function, especially after power interruption
- Do not install in areas with extreme vibration (>0.5g) without vibration dampening
