YOKOGAWA DX230-2-2/A4/F1/M1/R1

Manufacturer: Yokogawa Electric Corporation

Description:
The DX230-2-2/A4/F1/M1/R1 is a 2-channel universal paperless recorder from the DX2000 series. It replaces conventional chart recorders with a digital TFT color LCD display. The “/2-2” designation indicates 2 input channels and 2 alarm outputs. The “/A4” specifies the alarm configuration, “/F1” the front panel type, “/M1” the communication module, and “/R1” the redundant power supply configuration.

Functional Features:

  • Dual-channel simultaneous recording with independent scaling
  • 2 alarm relay outputs with user-configurable setpoints (A4)
  • Ethernet communication (M1) for data upload to host systems
  • Redundant power supply (R1) for critical applications requiring uninterrupted operation
  • USB port for data export via CSV format
  • Event recording with timestamp accuracy of ±1 second
  • Trend display with up to 8 pens simultaneously

Structural Characteristics:

  • Front panel mountable (panel cutout: 138 mm × 138 mm)
  • Die-cast aluminum housing with epoxy-coated finish
  • Gasket-sealed front bezel for IP66/NEMA 4X protection
  • Wall-mount or panel-mount installation

Working Principle:
Analog input signals are converted by a 16-bit A/D converter and processed by the internal microprocessor. Data is stored in NAND flash memory and displayed on the color TFT LCD. Alarm conditions trigger relay outputs based on user-defined thresholds. Communication via Ethernet allows remote monitoring through Yokogawa PRM software or third-party SCADA systems.

Advantages:

  • Zero paper consumption — fully digital recording
  • Long-term data storage with no degradation
  • Redundant power option ensures continuous operation
  • Wide input compatibility eliminates need for signal conditioners
  • Compact design saves panel space compared to chart recorders

Applicable Industries:

  • Oil and Gas
  • Chemical and Petrochemical
  • Water and Wastewater Treatment
  • Food and Beverage
  • Power Plants

Installation Requirements:

  • Panel cutout: 138 mm × 138 mm, depth minimum 120 mm
  • Mount vertically with the display facing the operator
  • Provide dedicated 100–240 V AC power circuit for R1 redundant configuration
  • Use shielded cables for analog input signals
  • Ground the chassis to the plant grounding system

Precautions:

  • Do not apply input signals exceeding the rated maximum (e.g., 30V DC or 30mA)
  • Ensure the recorder is powered off before connecting or disconnecting field wiring
  • Perform periodic backup of recorded data via USB or Ethernet
  • Do not install in direct sunlight or environments exceeding +50°C
