Functional Features:

  • 3 universal inputs accept any standard process signal (TC, RTD, mA, mV, V)
  • 4 isolated 4-20 mA outputs for control valve actuators, indicators, or transmission to DCS/PLC
  • 2 alarm relay outputs with configurable high/low/deviation alarm setpoints
  • Math functions: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square root, moving average
  • Linearizer function: Up to 30-segment piecewise linearization for custom sensor curves
  • Totalizer: Flow totalization with reset capability
  • Trend display: Real-time trend bar graph and historical trend on LCD
  • Event logging: Up to 500 timestamped events
  • Scheduled recording: Time-based and event-triggered recording
  • HART communication: Supports HART 7 protocol on input channels for smart transmitter configuration

Working Principle:
The DX2010-3-4-2 uses a 16-bit microprocessor with a high-resolution ADC (24-bit sigma-delta type) for each input channel. Signals are sampled, converted using stored calibration tables (including thermocouple reference junction compensation), and displayed on the monochrome LCD. Process data is written cyclically to internal flash memory. The 4-20 mA outputs are generated by 16-bit DACs with galvanic isolation. HART communication uses FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) modulation at 1200/2200 Hz superimposed on the 4-20 mA signal.

Advantages and Highlights:

  • Compact 96×96 mm form factor fits standard DIN cutouts, saving panel space
  • Dual power supply (AC/DC) provides installation flexibility
  • 4 isolated analog outputs enable direct control valve driving without external I/P converters
  • HART communication allows in-field transmitter configuration without a HART communicator
  • NEMA 4 / IP65 front panel suitable for washdown and outdoor panel applications
  • Low cost per channel compared to larger recorders

Applicable Industries:

  • Oil and Gas (refineries, pipelines)
  • Chemical and Petrochemical Plants
  • Power Plants (thermal, hydro, nuclear auxiliary)
  • Water and Wastewater
  • HVAC and Building Automation
  • Food Processing

Installation Requirements:

  • Cut panel opening to 92 mm × 92 mm for flush mounting
  • Secure with 4 × M4 mounting screws
  • Connect power: 100-240 V AC or 24 V DC with proper grounding
  • Use twisted-pair shielded cable for all analog input connections
  • For RS-485 communication, install 120Ω termination resistor at the last device on the bus
  • Maintain minimum 50mm clearance above and below the unit for ventilation

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not apply input signals exceeding the maximum rated value for the selected input type
  • Verify input type configuration matches the connected field instrument before energizing
  • Calibrate zero and span for each input channel after installation
  • Do not exceed 250V AC between output terminals and chassis ground
  • Ensure ambient temperature stays within 0°C to +50°C
  • Perform firmware updates only using Yokogawa-approved tools and procedures
  • Back up recorded data via RS-232C or USB adapter before memory fills
