YOKOGAWA DX-1006-1-4-2

Product Introduction:
The DX-1006-1-4-2 is a 6-channel universal input paperless recorder from Yokogawa’s DX1000 product line. The model code breaks down as: DX1006 = 6-channel recorder, 1 = single-pen (or specific variant), 4 = 4-digit display, 2 = 2 alarm outputs. This device replaces traditional chart recorders by digitally recording, displaying, and alarming on process variables including temperature, pressure, flow, and level.

  • Rear HousingABS flame-retardant (UL 94 V-0)
  • Terminal Block: Phoenix Contact-compatible, screw-type, 4 mm pitch
  • Gasket: Silicone rubber (IP65 seal)

Structural Characteristics:

  • Dimensions: 96 mm × 96 mm × 110 mm (W × H × D, bezel to rear)
  • Weight: Approximately 0.65 kg
  • Mounting: Panel-mount (DIN 96 × 96 cutout)
  • Display Position: Upper section of front panel

Working Principle:
Each of the 6 input channels is conditioned by a dedicated signal conditioning circuit (cold-junction compensation for TC, ratiometric bridge excitation for RTD, precision shunt for mA). The conditioned analog signal is converted by a 16-bit A/D converter, processed by the internal microprocessor for scaling, linearization, and math operations, then displayed on the LED display and stored in non-volatile flash memory. Alarms are evaluated in real-time against user-set high/low limits, triggering the relay outputs when limits are exceeded.

Key Advantages:

  • 6 universal inputs in a single 96 × 96 mm panel — replaces 6 individual indicators
  • 30-day data storage without external recorder — sufficient for most regulatory requirements
  • IP65 front panel — direct washdown mounting without additional enclosure
  • USB data export — eliminates manual chart reading

Applicable Industries:

  • Food and beverage (pasteurization, fermentation)
  • Pharmaceutical (cleanroom HVAC monitoring)
  • Chemical process (reactor temperature/pressure logging)
  • Building automation (HVAC trending)
  • Water treatment (flow and level recording)

Installation Requirements:

  • Cut 96 mm × 96 mm panel opening (tolerance ±0.5 mm)
  • Use shielded twisted-pair cables for TC inputs (max 50 m run)
  • Connect RS-485 communication with 120 Ω termination resistor at last device
  • Ground the chassis to earth ground (impedance < 10 Ω)

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not apply voltage > 30 V DC to relay outputs — will damage contacts
  • Use Yokogawa-specified TC extension wire (same thermocouple type as sensor) for accurate readings
  • Back up data to USB before firmware updates — flash memory may be erased
  • Do not mount in direct sunlight — LED display visibility degrades above 60°C ambient
