Yokogawa ADR541-P00
Product Introduction:
The ADR541-P00 is a 2-wire loop-powered isolated signal conditioner from Yokogawa’s signal conditioning product line. It accepts various input signal types and provides isolated, amplified, and converted output signals. The suffix “-P00” specifies the configuration: P = 24V DC loop-powered, 00 = standard output range (4–20mA).

Functional Features:
- Input/output/power galvanic isolation (3-way isolation)
- Programmable input range and output range via HART communicator or DIP switches
- Linearization for thermocouples and RTDs
- Cold junction compensation for thermocouple inputs (built-in)
- Burnout detection for RTD and TC inputs (configurable)
- DIN rail mounting (35mm standard rail)
Working Principle:
The ADR541 receives the process signal at its input terminals. The signal is conditioned through an isolation amplifier and A/D conversion circuit. A microcontroller applies linearization, scaling, and cold junction compensation (for TC). The processed signal is converted back to a 4–20mA current output via a precision D/A converter. The entire circuit is powered by the 24V DC loop supplying the output current.
Advantages & Highlights:
- 3-way galvanic isolation eliminates ground loop errors
- HART 7 protocol compatibility enables remote configuration and diagnostics
- DIN rail mount saves panel space
- Wide input type flexibility in a single compact module
- Loop-powered design eliminates need for separate power supply
Applicable Industries:
Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power, Water Treatment, HVAC, Food Processing, Mining
Installation Requirements:
- Mount on 35mm DIN rail (EN 60715 standard)
- Wiring: use shielded twisted-pair cable for TC/RTD inputs
- Ground the shield at one end only (controller end)
- Maintain minimum 25 mm separation from high-power cables
- Ambient temperature range: -20°C to +70°C
Usage Precautions:
- Do not exceed 42V DC on the loop power supply
- Verify input signal range matches DIP switch or HART configuration before energizing
- For HART communication, use a 250 Ω resistor in series with the loop
- Do not open the housing in hazardous areas unless the unit is certified for the zone
- Ensure proper cold junction compensation when using thermocouple inputs
