YOKOGAWA AAI543-H61-K4A00
Product Name
YOKOGAWA AAI543-H61-K4A00 16-channel isolated HART analog output module with redundant capability and pressure-clamp termination.
Product Introduction
AAI543-H61-K4A00 delivers 4-20 mA control signals to valves, positioners and actuators in CENTUM VP/FIO architectures. The H61 option provides hot-standby redundant operation, and the K4A00 option provides pressure-clamp terminal wiring for vibration-resistant installation.

Functional Features
Per-channel isolation prevents cross-talk between control loops. Redundant pairing provides continuous output during active-module fault or maintenance. HART overlay enables smart valve diagnostics and remote range configuration. Pressure-clamp terminals accept ferrule or solid wire without screws for fast, vibration-resistant wiring.
Application Scenarios
Used for critical control valves, ESD valve drivers, compressor anti-surge outputs, turbine fuel control, chemical reactor dosing, power-plant feedwater and offshore process loops where single-point output loss is unacceptable.
Performance Parameters
Output resolution is 16-bit class. Redundancy switchover is bumpless with no step-change in control current. Load calculation must keep each channel below 750 Ω including cable and transmitter/sensor resistance. HART FSK is superimposed on the 4-20 mA active loop.
Material Composition
UL 94 V-0 flame-retardant polymer housing, glass-fiber-reinforced FR4 PCB, per-channel DC/DC isolation, precision current source ICs, optoisolators, internal steel EMI shield where fitted, gold-plated backplane and clamp contacts.
Structural Characteristics
Single-slot FIO/output node format with front channel LEDs, HART indicator and fault LED, rear ESB/redundancy connector, side latches and K4A00 pressure-clamp terminal block accepting 0.2-2.5 mm² conductors.
Working Principle
The controller sends setpoint data to active and standby modules. The active module converts digital setpoint to isolated 4-20 mA through precision current sources. HART modulator superimposes digital communication on the loop. If the active module fails or is removed, the standby module assumes output value without bump.
Installation Requirements
Install redundant pairs in adjacent qualified FIO slots fed by the same node. Configure redundancy in CENTUM engineering before commissioning. Insert ferruled or solid conductors fully into pressure-clamp ports. De-energize field loops during initial termination and verify load resistance per channel.
Usage Precautions
Do not mix H61 redundant modules with non-redundant output modules in the same redundant pair. Never apply external voltage to output terminals. Separate HART/analog output cables from AC power cables and use shielded grounding at one point. Transfer control to manual or partner module before removing the active unit.
