Triconex 2401
Product Name
Triconex 2401 TMR 115 VAC/VDC digital input module.
Product Introduction
Triconex 2401 is a high-voltage discrete input module for Tricon triple-modular-redundant safety systems. It acquires 32 field contact or powered signals at 115 VAC/VDC, applies optical isolation, and performs three-path voting to support emergency shutdown and safety-instrumented functions.
Detailed content

Functional Features
High-density 115 VAC/VDC acquisition.
Optical isolation per channel group.
Triple redundant processing with automatic voting.
SOE-ready signal timing for safety audits.
Front-panel LEDs for run, sync, and fault status.
Material Composition and Structure
Industrial PCB with conformal coating option, gold-finger backplane connector, molded housing, optical isolators, high-voltage resistors, and LED indicators. Designed for insertion in Tricon safety rack.
Working Principle
Each input is conditioned, optically isolated, and fed to three independent processor legs. The system votes the acquired states and forwards validated discrete status to the safety logic solver. Abnormal threshold, open circuit, or leg disagreement generates diagnostics without losing validated output.
Installation Requirements
Insert in the designated Tricon DI slot per rack keying. Use shielded field wiring with proper 115 V common reference. Verify backplane 5 VDC and slot configuration before online activation. Observe electrostatic-discharge handling.
Usage Notes
Match field device dry-contact or powered-source type to 115 V rating. Avoid solid-state sensors with leakage current that can mimic closed contact. Do not mix isolated group commons incorrectly. Validate firmware and slot configuration after replacement.
