Toshiba CPUX01-01
Product Name
CPUX01-01 TOSMAP Turbine Generator Control CPU Board
Introduction
CPUX01-01 is a Toshiba TOSMAP CPU module for steam turbine, gas turbine, hydro turbine and generator control applications. It executes data acquisition, closed-loop control, sequence logic, protection interlock and communication with HMI, SCADA and I/O racks.
Detailed content
Technical Specifications
Form factor depends on TOSMAP rack configuration and hardware revision. Processor options include industrial x86 CPU configurations for real-time control; specific generation, clock speed and memory size are defined by the ordered CPU revision. Memory includes DRAM for runtime control programs and nonvolatile storage for firmware, project database, event logs and configuration backup. Communication interfaces include TOSMAP internal rack bus, Ethernet for HMI and plant network, and serial ports for engineering, diagnostics or legacy link. Power input, backplane signaling levels and slot assignment follow the TOSMAP rack power and bus specification. Control cycle, SOE resolution and I/O scan rate are configured in the TOSMAP engineering project according to turbine dynamics and protection requirements.
Functional Features
Deterministic execution of turbine speed control, load control, pressure and temperature supervision, valve positioning and generator auxiliary control. Integrated protection logic compares measured speed, vibration, temperature, pressure and electrical parameters with preset limits and issues trip or alarm actions. Event and SOE recording stores timestamped status changes for fault analysis. Redundant CPU configuration supports primary and backup operation in critical turbine generator applications. Watchdog, memory checks and self-diagnostics monitor module health.
Materials And Structure
Industrial multilayer PCB with conformal coating option for humidity and contamination protection. Metal front panel with rack fixing elements, status indicators, communication ports and service connectors. Onboard heatsink or conduction cooling structure according to processor power and cabinet ambient condition. Gold or controlled-finish backplane contacts matched to the TOSMAP rack connector standard.
Working Principle
The module receives sensor and I/O data from TOSMAP analog, digital, speed, vibration and generator interface cards through the rack bus. The CPU runs control algorithms, protection setpoint evaluation and sequence programs in fixed real-time cycles. Output commands are returned to I/O modules for valve actuators, excitation equipment, trip relays and auxiliary devices. Ethernet and serial channels transmit process data, alarms, trends and configuration information to operators and plant systems.
Installation Requirements
Install the module in the designated TOSMAP CPU slot with correct backplane keying and rack grounding. Verify rack power voltages, cooling airflow and clearance around the processor heatsink before energizing. Configure Ethernet addresses, serial parameters, I/O mapping and control database with Toshiba TOSMAP engineering software. For redundant systems, install primary and backup CPU in the specified slots and validate failover before turbine operation.
Usage Precautions
Use ESD protection during handling, insertion and removal. Do not modify trip setpoints, control constants or SOE configuration while the turbine is in operation unless authorized by the plant protection procedure. Back up the full control project, firmware image and event-log configuration before any upgrade. Maintain cabinet temperature, humidity and ventilation within the qualified TOSMAP environment. Replace with the same Toshiba CPUX01-01 hardware revision and firmware load to preserve system compatibility and certification.
