Honeywell 51304481-150

Product Name: MC-PAIL02 Low-Level Analog Input (LLAI) Processor Module
Introduction: The 51304481-150 (MC-PAIL02) is a low-level analog input processor for Honeywell TDC 3000 systems. It interfaces directly with low-level field sensors—thermocouples and RTDs—converting weak millivolt inputs into stabilized digital values for the HPM/APM controller.

Features: Eight high-precision isolated low-level inputs, four of which are differential. Conformal coating protects against corrosive industrial gases and moisture. Direct insertion into HPPM/APM card-file backplane. Optimized for millivolt-range thermal and pressure sensors. CE-compliant for European EMC standards.
Applications: Thermal monitoring in power generation requiring direct thermocouple termination; petrochemical and oil refining under corrosive, high-humidity conditions; heavy chemical processing using centralized APM/HPPM control architectures.
Working Principle: Low-level signals from thermocouples or RTDs arrive via the MU-TAIL02 FTA and 50-pin cable. The module amplifies, conditions, and digitizes these weak signals with 16-bit resolution. The resulting digital values are transferred to the controller over the I/O Link. The conformal coating and optical isolation protect the sensitive front-end electronics from industrial contaminants and electrical noise.
Installation Requirements: Insert the module directly into an available HPPM/APM card-file slot. Connect the 50-pin control cable to the MU-TAIL02 FTA. Terminate thermocouple or RTD field wiring at the FTA observing correct polarity and compensation. Verify the 24 VDC backplane supply is present.
Precautions: Handle the module by its edges to avoid damaging the conformal-coated PCB. Ensure that thermocouple wiring uses proper extension wire matching the thermocouple type to maintain accuracy. Periodically inspect the coating in highly corrosive atmospheres. The module is designed for control-room or enclosed industrial installation—not for outdoor exposure.
