Exxelia TKD 3340 ZL68061

Product Name
Exxelia TKD 3340 ZL68061 High-Voltage Conformal-Coated Leaded Capacitor
Product Introduction
Radial-leaded multilayer ceramic capacitor with epoxy conformal coating for through-hole high-voltage circuits. It is intended for power electronics, pulse, filtering and instrumentation applications where leaded mounting and high dielectric strength are required.

Detailed content

Technical Specifications
TKD series dielectrics include NPO, C4xx and X7R. Capacitance range 10 pF to 39 µF depending on dielectric and case size. Rated voltage range 250 VDC to 10,000 VDC; intermediate and higher voltages available on request. Operating temperature -55 to 125 °C for standard ceramic grades. Insulation resistance, dissipation factor and voltage-withstand values depend on dielectric, capacitance and voltage grade.
Functional Features
High-voltage epoxy-coated radial construction. Available NPO for stable temperature coefficient, X7R for higher capacitance density, and C4xx for specialized low-loss or high-stability requirements. Marking includes series, capacitance, tolerance, rated voltage and date code.
Application Scenarios
High-voltage power supplies, medical imaging modules, radar and RF support circuits, industrial pulse equipment, capacitor-divider networks, snubber circuits and laboratory instrumentation.
Performance Parameters
NPO temperature coefficient approximately 0 ±30 ppm/°C. X7R capacitance variation approximately ±15 percent over the operating temperature range. C4xx low-loss grades offer application-specific stability. Dissipation factor, insulation resistance and withstand voltage must be taken from the exact ordered capacitance and voltage code.
Material and Structure
Multilayer ceramic dielectric. Silver or silver/palladium electrode system with nickel or copper barrier layers depending on termination. Epoxy conformal coating over the ceramic body. Radial leads for through-hole mounting. Termination finishes include tin, tin/lead or gold options according to ordering code and RoHS requirement.
Working Principle
The multilayer dielectric stores charge between stacked electrodes. Applied DC voltage produces an electric field within the ceramic; the lead termination transfers charge to the circuit. Higher-voltage grades use thicker dielectric layers, larger case sizes and coated construction to limit corona, leakage and partial discharge.
Installation Requirements
Observe creepage and clearance distances for the rated voltage. Use through-hole PCB pads sized for the radial lead diameter and body dimensions. Avoid bending leads close to the ceramic body. For high-voltage designs, maintain adequate board spacing and do not place heat-generating components that raise the capacitor above its rated ambient.
Usage Precautions
Do not exceed the rated DC voltage or allowable AC ripple. Verify capacitance tolerance and voltage grade from the complete ordering code. Store in dry conditions; observe manufacturer storage time limits for tinned, gold-plated or non-tinned parts. For ZL68061 specifically, request the Exxelia TKD decoding sheet to confirm dielectric, capacitance value, tolerance, voltage and reliability level before procurement.
