Product Overview:
The B&R 8X0005.00-1 is an X20 Bus Coupler (BC0053) that serves as the gateway between the X20 distributed I/O bus and the X67/X90/X20CPU controller. It converts the X20 bus protocol to the system bus protocol used by the B&R CPU, enabling up to 63 X20 modules to be connected to a single controller. It is the central communication hub for any X20 installation.

Installation Requirements:

  • Maximum 63 modules per coupler — use second coupler for larger systems
  • Connect X20 service coupler (8SCS005.0000-0) for commissioning access
