Structural Characteristics:

  • DIN rail mounting (TS 35)
  • Plug-in terminal connectors with spring clamps
  • ABS plastic housing
  • Front-facing LED status indicators (16 channels)
  • X20 bus connector on bottom edge

Working Principle:
The controller sends digital output states via the X20 bus to the module. Each output channel is driven by an NPN transistor in a PNP (sourcing) configuration. When the controller sets a bit to “1”, the corresponding transistor turns ON, connecting the 24 V DC supply to the output terminal. When set to “0”, the transistor turns OFF. Each channel includes a fuse for short-circuit protection. Channel isolation is maintained via optocouplers.

Advantages & Highlights:

  • 16 channels in a single compact module saves panel space
  • 0.5 A per channel sufficient for most solenoid valves and small relays
  • Electronic fuse provides fast short-circuit protection
  • PNP (sourcing) output is standard for European automation systems
  • Diagnostic LEDs simplify troubleshooting

Applicable Industries:

  • Assembly line control
  • Conveyor system control
  • Packaging machine actuation
  • Valve control in process automation
  • General-purpose discrete I/O in machine building

Installation Requirements:

  • Mount on DIN rail (TS 35 x 7.5 or TS 35 x 15)
  • Connect to X20 base module or X20 system bus
  • Wire loads between 24 V DC supply and output terminals (PNP sourcing configuration)
  • Common return (0 V) connects to load, then to power supply negative
  • Use wire gauge appropriate for 0.5 A per channel (minimum 0.5 mm² recommended)

Usage Precautions:

  • Maximum 0.5 A per channel — do not exceed this rating
  • Total module current must not exceed 4 A
  • For inductive loads (relays, solenoids), use flyback diodes across the load
  • Verify output polarity: PNP sourcing means load connects between output and 0 V
  • Do not apply external voltage to output terminals
