B&R 7AI354.7
Product Type: Analog Input Module
Model Number: 7AI354.7
Product Introduction:
The B&R 7AI354.7 is a 4-channel analog input module from the X20 series. It acquires analog signals from sensors, transmitters, and process instruments and converts them into digital values for the B&R controller. The module supports both voltage and current input signals with high accuracy.

Working Principle:
Analog signals from field sensors enter the module through protected input terminals. Each channel passes through an input protection circuit (overvoltage and reverse polarity protection). A multiplexer routes the selected channel to a 12-bit successive approximation ADC. The digital result is transferred to the controller via the X20 bus. Channel isolation is maintained via optocouplers.
Advantages & Highlights:
- 4 independent channels with per-channel configuration flexibility
- 12-bit resolution delivers high measurement precision
- Robust input protection guards against field wiring errors
- Galvanic isolation ensures noise-free signal acquisition
- Hot-swap capability in X20 systems
Applicable Industries:
- Chemical and petrochemical plants
- Water and wastewater treatment
- HVAC systems
- Process control in food industry
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Energy management systems
Installation Requirements:
- Mount on DIN rail (TS 35 x 7.5 or TS 35 x 15)
- Maintain minimum 10 mm spacing between modules for heat dissipation
- Use shielded cables for analog signal wiring
- Connect cable shield to ground at one end only (controller side)
- Connect to X20 system base module
Usage Precautions:
- Never apply voltage exceeding 30 V DC to any input terminal
- For 4-20 mA inputs, ensure loop power is provided externally
- Verify input range setting matches connected transmitter output
- Do not leave current input terminals open-circuited when loop is energized
