Working Principle:

Runs standard Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit with B&R Automation Runtime as a real-time overlay. The EtherCAT master (B&R EtherCAT Master) runs as a real-time priority thread at 1 ms cycle time over the dedicated EtherCAT port, communicating with up to 64 ACOPOS servo drives in a single network. Hiperface DSL, EnDat 2.2, and SSI encoders connect directly to onboard interfaces — no external gateways needed. All I/O (8 DI, 8 DO, 2 AI, 2 AO, 2 serial) is processed locally via B&R I/O drivers, enabling complete standalone operation without external PLC.

Installation Requirements:

Cutout: 360 mm × 270 mm (W × H). Mount using 4× M6 screws or heavy-duty DIN rail clip. Connect 24 V DC to terminal block (X1/X2). Connect EtherCAT cable to first ACOPOS drive in daisy chain. Use shielded cables for all signal connections. Ground chassis to PE. Ensure minimum 100 mm clearance above and below for ventilation.

Critical Usage Directives:

Activate Windows 10 IoT license via B&R Automation License Manager. Use 64 GB SSD for OS/applications — add external storage for data logging. Perform regular Windows Updates via B&R Update Service (do not use Windows Update directly). Use B&R Automation Studio 4.x for all engineering. Do not exceed 55°C ambient — derate by 2.5% per °C above 40°C. The resistive touch screen supports stylus operation — do not use sharp metal objects that may damage the touch membrane.
