The 10.4″ SVGA display (800×600) provides ~1.7× the screen area of the 7″ PP400 panel, enabling more complex visualizations with multiple alarm windows, trend charts, and recipe tables on a single screen. 2 GB RAM supports larger projects with up to 1000 visualization screens and PLC programs up to 5000 steps. Dual Ethernet ports enable network redundancy (MRP) or separation of control and IT networks. The RS-232/422/485 serial port provides legacy device connectivity (barcode scanners, scales, modems). 4 GB eMMC provides double the storage of PP400 for data logging and recipe storage.

Performance Characteristics:
Screen refresh rate: 60 Hz. Touch sampling: 100 Hz. PLC scan cycle: 5–20 ms (configurable). Suitable for medium-complexity applications that exceed PP400 capabilities but do not require full Windows PC (PP800 series).
Working Principle:
B&R Automation Runtime executes PLC scan and HMI rendering on the Intel Atom E3845. Resistive touch inputs at 100 Hz feed directly into the runtime. Dual Ethernet supports SERCOS III servo communication on one port and IT/HMI traffic on the other. Serial port operates at up to 115.2 kbaud.

Installation Requirements:
