B&R 3NW150.60-1

Structural & Mechanical Features:

Motor employs a square flange mounting design (NEMA 23 equivalent) with 4 threaded mounting holes on a 140 mm x 140 mm bolt pattern. Rotor is dynamically balanced to G6.3 per ISO 1940-1, ensuring minimal vibration at rated speed. Pre-assembled motor cable exits radially from the rear end, terminated with M23 17-pin connector on the drive side and M23 12-pin connector on the motor side. The integrated multi-turn absolute encoder eliminates the need for homing routines after power loss — absolute position is retained across power cycles.

Control & Performance Characteristics:

Closed-loop servo control operates via field-oriented control (FOC) algorithm executing at 62.5 µs servo cycle time. Position following error is held below ±1 arcminute under normal operating conditions. Servo bandwidth reaches up to 2.5 kHz depending on drive configuration. The motor supports electronic cam, electronic gear, and path planning functions when paired with compatible ACOPOS drives. Cogging torque is minimized through skewed rotor magnet design, enabling smooth operation at speeds as low as 0.1 rpm.

Industry Applications:

CNC milling and turning centers, injection molding machines, plastic extrusion lines, printing and converting equipment, robotic joint actuation, semiconductor wafer handling, textile winding machines, food packaging systems.

Mounting & Commissioning Requirements:

Secure motor to machine frame using 4× M6 socket-head cap screws (torque: 2.5 Nm). Maintain minimum 50 mm clearance on all sides for airflow. Cable bend radius must not fall below 75 mm (5× cable OD). Connect protective earth conductor to chassis ground point. Perform motor identification and auto-tuning via ACOPOS Configurator software before first energization.

Critical Usage Directives:

Never exceed 6000 rpm continuous speed. Verify encoder cable shielding continuity prior to startup. Use exclusively with B&R ACOPOS servo drive family. Operate strictly within 0°C to +55°C ambient range. Do not apply axial or radial loads exceeding 100 N / 500 N respectively.
