Functional Features:

  • Single-turn absolute encoder provides position feedback immediately upon power-on without homing sequence
  • Keyed shaft ensures secure mechanical coupling to gearboxes, pulleys, or lead screws
  • Natural convection cooling eliminates the need for external fans, reducing noise and maintenance
  • High torque-to-inertia ratio enables rapid acceleration and deceleration cycles
  • Baumüller b maXX 5000 / b maXX 3000 drive compatible for seamless integration

Structural Characteristics:

  • Housing Material: Aluminum alloy die-cast with high thermal conductivity
  • Stator Lamination: Grain-oriented electrical steel, low iron loss
  • Rotor: Permanent magnet rotor with NdFeB (Neodymium-Iron-Boron) rare-earth magnets, surface-mounted or inset design
  • Bearings: Deep-groove ball bearings, sealed, maintenance-free rated life L10 ≥ 20,000 hours
  • Shaft Material: Hardened and ground steel, C45 / 1.0503

Working Principle:
The motor operates on the synchronous permanent magnet principle. The stator windings generate a rotating magnetic field when supplied with three-phase AC current from the servo drive. The permanent magnet rotor locks to this rotating field and rotates synchronously. The absolute encoder mounted on the shaft provides real-time angular position data to the servo drive, enabling closed-loop position, velocity, and torque control.

Advantages & Highlights:

  • Compact design with high power density — ideal for space-constrained installations
  • Absolute encoder eliminates homing requirement after power loss
  • IP65 protection allows use in dusty and wet industrial environments
  • Low cogging torque ensures smooth motion at low speeds
  • Wide speed range from 0 to 6000 rpm with constant torque up to rated speed

Applicable Industries:

  • Packaging machinery
  • Printing and converting machines
  • Small CNC axes
  • Robot joint axes (small payload)
  • Textile machinery
  • Semiconductor handling equipment
  • Medical device actuators

Installation Requirements:

  • Mounting orientation: Any (B3/B5/B35 flange mounting available)
  • Flange type: Square flange with 4 mounting holes (M5)
  • Tightening torque for flange bolts: 8 Nm
  • Shaft coupling: Use flexible coupling to compensate for misalignment (max. radial offset 0.1 mm, angular offset 1°)
  • Cable entry: M23 connector, cable gland PG13.5 recommended

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not exceed maximum continuous torque to prevent demagnetization of permanent magnets
  • Ensure adequate ventilation even with natural cooling — minimum 100 mm clearance on all sides
  • Do not subject the shaft to axial loads exceeding 50 N or radial loads exceeding 150 N
  • Store in dry environment; if unused for >6 months, rotate shaft manually every 30 days
  • Encoder cable must be shielded and routed separately from power cables (min. 100 mm distance)
