AEG AS-S908-120
Product Type: Multi-Sensor Signal Conditioning and Interface Module
Product Overview:
The AEG AS-S908-120 is a multi-sensor interface module designed to accept signals from various industrial sensors (temperature, pressure, flow, level) and convert them to standardized output signals for the controller. It supports RTD, TC, mA, and voltage inputs.

Working Principle:
Each channel uses a precision current source (1 mA) to excite RTD sensors. The voltage drop is measured by a 24-bit Sigma-Delta ADC (AD7192) and converted to temperature using the Callendar-Van Dusen equation stored in firmware. For thermocouples, cold junction compensation is performed by an on-board temperature sensor (TMP117 or equivalent) and the Seebeck coefficient lookup table is applied. All results are isolated via digital isolators (Si864x, 5 kV) and transmitted over the backplane bus or converted to 4–20 mA / 0–10 V via an isolated DAC.
Key Advantages:
- 8 universal input channels in one module (RTD, TC, mA, V)
- ± 0.1°C accuracy on RTD for precision temperature measurement
- Built-in cold junction compensation eliminates need for external CJC
- Fully isolated channels prevent ground loop errors
Applicable Industries:
Pharmaceutical, food & beverage, chemical processing, HVAC, power generation, laboratory automation.
Installation Requirements:
- Mount on 35 mm DIN rail
- For 3-wire RTD, connect sense wires to designated terminals
- For 4–20 mA inputs, loop power must be supplied externally (24 V DC)
- Set DIP switches for correct input type before connecting sensors
Usage Precautions:
- Do not exceed 30 V DC on voltage input channels
- For thermocouple inputs, use correct type (K, J, T, N) as configured
- RTD excitation current is 1 mA — do not connect external current sources
- Calibrate annually using certified temperature simulator
