AEG AM-S980-810

Product Type: Precision Analog Signal Amplifier and Conditioner

Product Overview:
The AEG AM-S980-810 is a precision analog signal amplifier module designed for conditioning low-level sensor signals (mV, mA) to standard industrial ranges (0–10 V, 4–20 mA) before transmission to the controller.

Detailed content

Material Composition:

  • Housing: Aluminum alloy 6063-T5, silver anodized
  • Amplifier IC: Analog Devices AD620 or TI INA128 (instrumentation amplifier)
  • IsolationAnalog Devices AD202 (isolation amplifier), 5 kV rating
  • TerminalsGold-plated phosphor bronze spring contacts

Structural Features:

  • DIN rail mountable (35 mm)
  • 4 DIP switches for gain and output range selection
  • Trimmer potentiometer for zero offset adjustment
  • LED indicators: Power, Signal, Fault

Working Principle:
The input signal is amplified by a precision instrumentation amplifier (AD620) with gain set by an external resistor (or internal DIP-selected gain network). The amplified signal is then isolated via an isolation amplifier (AD202) and converted to the selected output range (0–10 V or 4–20 mA) using a voltage-to-current converter (XTR115 or equivalent).

Key Advantages:

  • Ultra-high accuracy (± 0.1% FS) for precision measurement
  • Programmable gain (1–1000) covers all common sensor types
  • 1500 V DC isolation for safe signal transmission
  • Zero and span trimmers for field calibration

Applicable Industries:
Laboratory instrumentation, precision weighing, strain gauge measurement, temperature monitoring (RTD/TC), pressure transducers.

Installation Requirements:

  • Mount on 35 mm DIN rail
  • Set DIP switches for correct gain and output range before connecting
  • Use shielded twisted-pair cable for mV-level inputs
  • Calibrate zero offset using on-board trimmer before commissioning

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not apply input voltage exceeding 5 V DC to mV input range
  • For mV inputs, use 3-wire connection to cancel lead resistance
  • Do not exceed 1500 V DC between input and output (isolation limit)
  • Recalibrate annually or after any mechanical shock
