Working Principle:
The AM-C986-004 module receives communication requests from the PLC CPU via the Quantum backplane bus. The module’s onboard processor formats the data according to the Modbus RTU or ASCII protocol and transmits it via the RS-485 physical layer. Responses from slave devices are received, validated (CRC check), and passed back to the CPU. The galvanic isolation barrier prevents ground loops and electrical noise from affecting the PLC backplane.
