Functional Features: Fully electric integrated design with brushless DC motor, metering valve, and position sensor in one unit. Shear-type self-cleaning metering action. Non-contact position sensing via single- or three-speed resolver. Throttle-type differential pressure regulation without fuel bypass. Remote driver can be located up to 100 meters from the valve.
Materials & Construction: Valve body in high-strength aluminum alloy (standard) or stainless steel (marine environment). Metering rotary plate in corrosion-resistant hardened stainless steel, precision EDM-machined. Motor housing in finned aluminum alloy. Rotor uses rare-earth permanent magnet material. Seals in FKM elastomer. Internal fasteners in stainless steel.
Working Principle: The control system outputs a 4–20 mA position command to the driver. The driver converts this to brushless DC motor drive current, rotating the metering rotary plate to the commanded position.
Applications: Industrial gas turbine liquid fuel precision metering, aeroderivative gas turbine fuel control, power generation gas turbine fuel regulation, mechanical drive gas turbine fuel control, marine gas turbine liquid fuel systems, combined heat and power (CHP) fuel metering.
Installation & Notes: Driver can be remotely mounted up to 100 meters away. Use SAE J1926/1 and MS16142 standard threaded ports. An OVBD drain port is provided. Follow Woodward’s LQ series installation manual for electrical and piping connections.
