- Speed range (DIP S1): 500–1500 / 1000–3000 / 2000–6000 / 4000–12 000 Hz
- MPU: magnetic pickup, ≥1.0 Vrms above idle
- Operating temperature: –40 to +70 °C
- Load sharing: ±5 Vdc, ±5% load accuracy
- Accel ramp 1–22 s; decel <1 s
Functional highlights: Isochronous or droop control, start fuel limit with override, failed-speed-signal minimum-fuel circuit, external speed trim, minimum-fuel shutdown contact, gain/reset/actuator compensation.
Applications: Genset speed governing, multi-unit load sharing, industrial prime-mover control.
Installation & safety notes: Set S1 DIP switch to the correct speed range before power-up. The 2301A is a control, not a protection device—an independent overspeed trip is mandatory. Mount in a clean, dry panel with vibration isolation; keep away from EMI sources. Use shielded cable, ground shields per Woodward EMI note 50532. Never disconnect a CT while the engine is running.
