Woodward 9907-523

Product Name: Woodward LS-523 Extended Synchronization & Load Controller
Product Introduction: The highest-configuration model of the LS-5 series, featuring full master station capabilities with expanded I/O capacity and support for complex interlock logic. It is suitable for complex power stations with mixed operation of various prime movers, such as combined parallel scenarios of gas units and diesel units.

Detailed content

Technical Specifications:
  • Power Supply: 18–32 VDC
  • Sampling: Three-phase voltage and current sampling
  • Large number of programmable digital input/output
  • Communication: CAN bus, commissioning service interface
  • Analog I/O: 4–20 mA analog input and output
  • Operating Temperature: -40°C to +70°C
Functional Features:
  • Full master station synchronization and total load control functions
  • Large number of programmable I/Os to accommodate complex external interlock conditions
  • Analog input/output for interfacing with DCS systems
  • Event logging and fault recording with local code display
  • Adaptable to mixed parallel control of different types of prime movers
Application Scenarios: Mixed prime mover power stations, large industrial self-owned power plants, oil and gas field power generation systems.
Material Composition: Engineering plastic operator panel, metal enclosure, multiple circuit boards, mixed analog and digital circuits, flame-retardant terminals.
Structural Features: Panel-embedded installation with front keypad and indicators; high-density terminal block on the rear.
Working Principle: Acquires voltage and current signals from the grid and each unit, calculates total load demand, and issues load commands to each unit. Receives external interlock signals to execute custom logic; the analog interface completes data interaction with the DCS.
Installation Requirements:
  • Cabinet panel cutout installation, strictly follow the cutout dimensions in the manual
  • CAN bus uses shielded twisted-pair cable with terminal resistors configured
  • Separate routing of analog signal cables and power cables to reduce interference
  • Fuses must be configured in the sampling circuit
Usage Precautions:
  • Ensure correct phase sequence before grid-tie to prevent out-of-sync closing
  • This controller does not include independent overspeed protection; the system must be equipped with an independent hardware overspeed shutdown device
  • Anti-static protection must be observed when assembling/disassembling circuit boards
Note: When interfacing with a DCS, ensure protocol compatibility and version matching.
