Functional Features: The valve features a corrosion-resistant, self-cleaning design for long-term operation in sour gas environments; the actuator has a built-in 40 μm final stage filter screen to prevent contaminants from damaging the servo valve; integral control characteristic with zero current at zero speed, delivering high positioning accuracy; dual-coil torque motor servo valve with redundant control capability; positive null current design ensures automatic fail-to-safe closure upon power loss.
Application Scenarios: Industrial gas turbine fuel metering; gas engine speed control; cogeneration units; natural gas compressor units.
Material Composition: Valve body in stainless steel (CF8M); actuator housing in anodized aluminum; internal parts in hardened stainless steel; seals in fluoroelastomer (FKM).
Structural Features: Rotary sleeve throttling valve with TM-55 integral electrohydraulic actuator; built-in 40 μm final stage filter; dual-coil torque motor servo valve; internal mechanical feedback.
Working Principle: The TM-55 actuator’s torque motor servo valve receives the electronic control signal to generate a differential pressure, driving the second-stage spool to control the flow direction of high-pressure oil to the double-acting servo piston. The piston’s linear motion is converted through internal linkage into output shaft rotation, which in turn rotates the valve sleeve to regulate gas flow. The RVDT (if equipped) provides real-time valve position feedback, forming a closed-loop control.
Installation Requirements: Hydraulic oil must be filtered to ISO 4406 20/18/15 or higher cleanliness; supply pressure range of 2758 to 8274 kPa (400 to 1200 psig); supply viscosity of 50 to 1000 SSU, temperature -40°C to +121°C; installation orientation is unrestricted, but avoid impact loads on the output shaft.
Usage Precautions: Plastic protective caps must be installed on hydraulic ports during transport; the unit is calibrated and test oil drained from the factory, no additional flushing required; upon power or pressure loss, the valve tends toward the minimum fuel position; petroleum-based hydraulic oil must be used, synthetic oil requires confirmation from Woodward.
