Woodward 8917-001
Product Name: Model 1907 Large Liquid Fuel Valve (Specific Configuration Version)
Product Introduction: This model is a specific configuration version of the Woodward 1907 series large liquid fuel valve, designed for industrial gas turbines. It precisely meters liquid fuel during acceleration, steady-state operation, and deceleration. The valve typically works in conjunction with a servo and acceleration limiter assembly, maintaining a constant differential pressure across the metering port through a built-in differential pressure regulator, ensuring that the fuel flow at a given valve position is unaffected by outlet pressure or inlet flow variations.

Application Scenarios: Suitable for various liquid fuel industrial gas turbines, including power generation, mechanical drive, and marine propulsion systems. Compatible with diesel, kerosene, gasoline, naphtha, gas turbine fuel oil, fuel oil, and compliant biodiesel.
Performance Parameters: Metering accuracy is ±5% of actual flow or ±0.5% of maximum rated flow. Valve stroke time from full open to full close is less than 100 ms, and shut-off response time is less than 100 ms.
Material Composition: Valve body is available in aluminum alloy or stainless steel; internal wetted parts use corrosion-resistant materials; sealing components use fluorocarbon rubber (FKM), suitable for various liquid fuel environments.
Structural Features: The valve adopts a rotary sleeve metering structure, with the metering sleeve driven by an external actuator through a lever mechanism. The valve body integrates a bypass valve and differential pressure regulator. Fuel connections use MS33786-20 standard interfaces, with optional overboard drain interface.
Working Principle: Fuel enters the valve body from the inlet, is precisely regulated by the metering port, and delivered to the gas turbine combustion chamber; the excess returns to the tank through the bypass valve. The built-in differential pressure regulator automatically adjusts the bypass valve opening through a bellows and spring mechanism, maintaining a constant differential pressure across the metering port at the set value. When the actuator adjusts the metering sleeve angle, the effective flow area of the metering port changes, achieving precise flow control under constant differential pressure.
Installation Requirements:
-
Must be used with a positive displacement fuel pump; not applicable to other pump types
-
Valve body must be fixed to a rigid foundation; installation orientation should facilitate maintenance
-
The overboard drain port must be connected to a fuel collection, purge, vent, or flare system, with back pressure not exceeding 69 kPa (10 psig)
-
Strictly prohibit blocking the overboard drain port to prevent fuel from entering the actuator and causing hazards
Usage Precautions:
-
Fuel must be filtered to 20 microns or finer, with water content controlled within 0.1% by volume
-
Periodically inspect the leakage at the overboard drain port; exceeding 20 cm³/min indicates shaft seal wear requiring immediate repair
-
Shaft seal replacement requires special tools; it is recommended to contact Woodward for service
-
Before first start-up after prolonged shutdown, check valve flexibility and actuator calibration status
