Woodward 8915-896
Product Name
3103 Series Electric Fuel Valve with EM35MR All-Electric Actuator
Product Introduction
The Woodward 8915-896 is a fully electric fuel metering valve assembly belonging to the 3103 valve family, driven by an EM35MR all-electric actuator. This configuration provides precise fuel metering for industrial gas turbines without requiring hydraulic oil supply, fundamentally eliminating hydraulic contamination and maintenance issues.

Structural Features
- Planetary gear reduction actuator directly coupled to valve body
- High-precision brushless resolver directly coupled to metering sleeve for position detection
- Inlet flow guide tube with redundant sealing design
- Self-cleaning metering structure designed for sour (acidic) gas environments
Working Principle
The controller signal drives the motor to change the valve sleeve opening. The resolver provides feedback for closed-loop control. In case of fault, a spring closes the valve to the minimum fuel position.
Functional Features
- Fully electric drive, no hydraulic oil source required
- Brushless DC motor with samarium-cobalt magnets, all stator windings fully encapsulated
- High-precision brushless resolver as non-contact position feedback, directly coupled to valve metering sleeve
- Dual resolver configuration for redundant position detection
- Built-in slip clutch protects transmission mechanism, disengages at 1.5× maximum actuator output force
- Fault detection circuit monitors 4–20 mA interface, position controller, driver, and feedback status
- Automatic motor power cut-off on fault or external trip command; valve springs to minimum fuel position
- Analog driver accepts 4–20 mA demand signal; digital driver exchanges 16-bit digital position data via serial communication with NetCon/MicroNet systems
- Flameproof cast aluminum enclosure compliant with ATEX Category 2
- CSA certified: Class I, Division 1, Groups C, D; Class I, Division 2, Groups B, C, D (NRTL/C); LCIE Zone 1 Group IIB
