Woodward 8915-1194

Product Introduction: The 8915-1194 is a Woodward 3103 gas fuel metering valve factory-paired with the EM35MR all-electric actuator, forming a complete, calibrated fuel-control package for industrial gas turbines. Like the 8915-1193 base configuration, it eliminates hydraulic infrastructure and delivers precision metering required for dry-low-emission combustion. The unit is configured to Woodward DVP (Digital Valve Positioner) architecture and is ready for direct mounting into the turbine fuel skid.

Application Scenarios: Industrial gas-turbine generator fuel systems; gas compressor drive fuel control; cogeneration and CHP plants; distributed energy; DLE combustion fuel metering; marine and offshore gas-turbine propulsion.
Material Composition: Valve body – stainless steel precision casting; metering internals – fully hardened stainless steel; actuator housing – cast aluminum, explosion-proof; motor – samarium-cobalt permanent magnet brushless DC; torsion coupling – stainless steel; seals – FKM or fuel-resistant elastomer.
Structural Features: The EM35MR actuator attaches directly to the 3103 valve via an adapter with no intermediate linkage. The planetary gearhead provides high-torque reduction. The resolver is coupled directly to the metering sleeve, eliminating transmission error. The explosion-proof cast-aluminum enclosure dissipates motor heat. Dual roller bearings carry the output shaft.
Working Principle: The electronic controller issues a position command to the EM35MR driver. The driver supplies the brushless DC motor, whose rotation is reduced by the planetary gearhead and transmitted through the stainless-steel torsion coupling to the 3103 metering sleeve. Changing the sleeve position alters the metering port area, thereby regulating fuel flow. The resolver continuously reports the actual sleeve position to close the control loop. On power loss the internal spring drives the sleeve to the minimum-fuel stop.
Installation Requirements: Use Woodward-supplied lifting kit with crossbar between lifting brackets. Never lift by electrical connectors. Torque lifting bracket mounting bolts to 30–38 N·m when reinstalling. Mount the 2-inch 600# ANSI B16.5 flange to the fuel manifold using proper gaskets. Provide 25 μm absolute fuel filtration. Comply with Class I, Div 1 wiring methods in hazardous areas; bond housing to earth ground.
Usage Precautions: Do not make or break electrical connections while energized in hazardous locations. Do not exceed 6,205 kPa (900 psia) enhanced inlet pressure or 4,964 kPa (720 psia) standard/CSA+CE limit. Never coil the motor power cable. Periodically inspect cable connections. Do not field-service the servo valve. Confirm fuel cleanliness prior to startup.
