Material & Structure: Stainless steel valve body with through-hardened stainless steel internals; cast aluminum explosion-proof actuator housing; brushless DC motor with samarium-cobalt magnets; planetary gearbox; stainless steel torsional coupling; resolver-type shaft position sensors.
Working Principle: Electronic control signal drives the brushless servo motor through a planetary gearbox, directly turning the 3103 valve metering sleeve via a torsional coupling. The resolver provides non-contact position feedback for closed-loop control. On power loss, the internal spring returns the valve to minimum fuel position.
Note: For exact port size, flange rating, certification variant, and configuration-specific parameters of 8915-1154, consult the Woodward factory or authorized representative with the serial number. The 3103/EM35 family is designated “Not for New Applications” in current Woodward literature — upgrade path is the GS40 or GS50 Series.
