Woodward 8915-1025
Product Name: 3103 Valve with EM35MR Actuator
Product Description: 8915-1025 is a Woodward genuine OEM assembly consisting of a 3103 gas valve paired with an EM35MR electric actuator. It is supplied as a worldwide-shipping critical spare part. The EM35MR actuator is the motor-resolver variant of the EM35 family, providing enhanced resolver-based commutation and position feedback for high-precision fuel metering in industrial gas turbines.

Working Principle: The electronic controller sends a command signal to the EM 24V Digital Driver. The driver energizes the 3-phase brushless DC motor using resolver feedback for commutation, producing precise rotation. The motor, after planetary gear reduction, drives the 3103 gas valve’s metering sleeve to change the opening. The resolver provides position feedback to form a closed-loop control. On loss of power, the spring returns the valve to minimum fuel position.
Installation Requirements:
-
Inspect the unit upon receipt for any damage during shipping.
-
Follow Woodward’s standard 3103/EM35MR installation guidelines for mounting, piping, and electrical connections.
-
Configure appropriate fuel filtration (25 micron absolute) at inlet.
-
Use RS-232 DIP for initial driver setup and commissioning.
Usage Notes:
-
Maintain strict fuel cleanliness standards per Woodward specifications.
-
Follow recommended maintenance intervals and return to factory for overhaul when required.
-
Verify safe-use restrictions for hazardous area installations (ambient temperature limitations apply).
