Woodward 8915-1010
Product Description: Based on Woodward’s published 3103/EM35 product platform data, 8915-1010 belongs to the 3103 gas valve paired with EM-35 electric actuator family, designed for industrial gas turbine fuel control. The EM-35 actuator receives electronic controller command signals and uses a fully electric drive system to precisely control the opening of the 3103 gas valve’s rotary metering sleeve, achieving high-precision fuel flow metering and regulation. As a member of the 3103/EM35 series, this unit is fully electric, low-maintenance, and factory-matched and base-calibrated.

Working Principle: The electronic controller sends a command signal to the EM-35 driver. The driver energizes the brushless DC motor to produce precise rotation. The motor, after planetary gear reduction, directly drives the 3103 gas valve’s metering sleeve via a stainless steel torsion coupling to change the opening. The resolver detects the actual position of the metering sleeve in real time and feeds it back to the driver, forming a closed-loop position control. On loss of power, the spring returns the valve to minimum fuel position.
Installation Requirements:
-
Handle the unit carefully during installation to avoid damage to seals and factory calibration.
-
Protect fuel connection ports when not connected to formal piping.
-
Configure appropriate fuel filtration (25 micron absolute) at inlet.
-
Use shielded cable for electrical connections and ground properly according to hazardous location wiring methods.
Usage Notes:
-
Fuel cleanliness is critical; maintain strict filtration standards.
-
3-phase motor field director and tach for commutation signal with single resolver excitation and single feedback; features hard overcurrent shutdown.
-
This configuration is non-preferred and not for new applications per Woodward; not CE certified.
-
Follow Woodward recommended maintenance intervals for actuator overhaul.
