Simplex 4100-3102

Product Name
MAPNET II addressable interface module for Simplex 4100 series fire alarm systems.
Product Introduction
This module provides MAPNET II communication between the Simplex 4100 master controller or expansion bay and addressable field devices. It converts panel digital signals into MAPNET II protocol data, supports device addressing, status polling, alarm reporting and supervisory functions across one communication loop.

Detailed content

Campus And Institutional Sites
Distributed addressable detection across panels, expansion bays and remote equipment rooms.
Performance Parameters
Response Reporting
Loop diagnostics update according to panel program and device polling interval.
Wiring Load Budget
Total device current must be calculated at 1.7 mA per device and added to module base current.
Structural Features
Board Construction
FR4 printed circuit board with surface mount communication components.
Mounting Frame
Metal bracket designed for two consecutive expansion bay slots.
Backplane Connector
Edge connector aligned to Simplex 4100 MAPNET II bus and power rails.
Material Composition
Circuit Board
Glass reinforced epoxy FR4 with conformal coating.
Connector Plating
Gold or nickel plated backplane contacts for corrosion resistance.
Enclosure Components
Powder coated steel bracket and flame retardant insulator components.
Working Principle
The module receives panel communication from the fire alarm controller, formats commands into MAPNET II packets, transmits them to addressable devices, receives response data, evaluates device states and returns alarm or supervisory information to the main processor.
Installation Requirements
Install only in two consecutive open 2 inch slots in the approved Simplex 4100 expansion bay. Verify panel firmware supports MAPNET II. Connect MAPNET II wiring with correct polarity and loop termination. Calculate total device load before power up. Perform address assignment and loop test through the main panel.
Usage Precautions
Never install the module in nonconsecutive slots. Never exceed 127 addressed devices. Always include module base current and per device current in power budget. Correct all short circuit and open circuit faults before returning the loop to service.
