Phontech 98609-003-REV

Model: 98609-003-REV
Product Name: Digital Trunk Interface Card for MX-ONE / MD150A Telephony Platform
Product Introduction: This card provides E1/T1 digital trunk termination for enterprise PBX and legacy telephony systems. It connects the MX-ONE CPU or compatible Ericsson/Phontech platform to PSTN or inter-switch trunks. If the physical label shows an industrial motherboard box or ship communication revision instead of a telephony trunk card, request the full suffix before using these specifications.

Detailed content

Technical Specifications:
  • Interface: E1/T1 digital trunk
  • Channels: 30 B-channels for E1, 23 B-channels for T1 according to configuration
  • Impedance: 75 Ω coaxial; some revisions support alternative balancing/connector options
  • Frame Formats: PCM30/PCM31 for E1, D4/ESF for T1
  • Line Coding: HDB3 for E1, B8ZS for T1
  • Connectors: SMB coaxial or RJ45 according to sub-revision
  • Power Consumption: Approximately 12 W for listed MX-ONE trunk card configuration
  • Operating Temperature: 0°C to 45°C for telephony card environment
  • Platform: MX-ONE and legacy MD150A compatible; base 98609-003 covers REV variants
Functional Features:
  • Trunk Signaling: Carries voice/data bearer channels and signaling link according to E1/T1 provisioning
  • Loopback Test: Layer 1 diagnostic and call-path verification
  • Revision Management: REV suffix identifies firmware/hardware build; base part remains 98609-003
  • Hot-Swap/Slot Rules: Install according to MX-ONE shelf slot and CPU firmware compatibility
Application Scenarios:
  • Enterprise PBX: PSTN inbound/outbound trunks for offices
  • Legacy MD150A Sites: Interconnect and public-line migration
  • Hybrid VoIP/TDM: E1/T1 feed into IP-enabled MX-ONE cores
  • Industrial/Marine Telephone: Where TDM trunks remain mandatory for compliance or reliability
Structural Characteristics:
  • Form Factor: Standard MX-ONE trunk card slot assembly
  • Front/Edge Connectors: Trunk coax/RJ45 and backplane bus interface
  • Indicators: Card status LEDs per MX-ONE diagnostic convention
Working Principle: Incoming E1/T1 bitstream is received over the trunk interface, framed and decoded into B-channels and signaling. The MX-ONE CPU routes channels to extensions, SIP gateway or other trunks. Outbound calls are encoded and transmitted with correct framing, coding and clocking.
Installation Requirements:
  • Confirm E1 or T1 country/provider parameters before activation.
  • Use 75 Ω coaxial cable and proper terminators; avoid mixed impedance.
  • Install in supported MX-ONE slot with compatible CPU firmware.
  • Set clock source, CRC4/non-CRC4, PRI/QSIG or T1 signaling per carrier.
Usage Precautions:
  • Do not mix analog trunk, BRI and E1/T1 card part numbers in the same slot role.
  • Verify REV compatibility; some older revisions require CPU firmware adjustment.
  • Check SMB/RJ45 pins for bending before insertion.
  • Perform loopback and call test before returning the card to production service.
