Pepperl+Fuchs KCD2-UT2-Ex1

Overview
The KCD2-UT2-Ex1 is a universal temperature converter (signal conditioner / barrier) manufactured by Pepperl+Fuchs and supplied within Honeywell project channels for hazardous-area temperature measurement. It accepts RTD, thermocouple, potentiometer, or mV input from the field side (Zone 0, 1, 2 / Div. 1, 2) and converts it to a standard 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA analog current output on the control side. The device carries SIL 2 certification for functional safety loops.

Applications
Temperature measurement and signal conditioning in hazardous areas (Zone 0, 1, 2 / Div. 1, 2) across oil & gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and process industries where SIL 2 safety loops are required.
Installation & Notes
Mount on a 35 mm DIN rail. Connect the intrinsically safe field circuit to the blue terminals 1–4 using DIN EN 60079-14 compliant leads into the hazardous area. Connect the control-side output to terminals 5–8, and supply power to terminals 9–10 or via Power Rail. For external cold-junction compensation, fit the optional K-CJC-** terminal block. Observe the max 0.98 W power budget and ensure the load does not exceed 550 Ω on the source output. Configure input type and ranges via the programming socket before energizing.
