OKOS AL8XGTE-3

Product Name
AL8XGTE-3 eight-channel universal analog input module.
Product Introduction
The AL8XGTE-3 universal analog input module acquires RTD, thermocouple, millivolt, milliampere and voltage signals for distributed process I/O. It converts each input with high-resolution A/D conversion and transmits engineering values over the backplane or fieldbus to the controller.

Detailed content

Technical Specifications
Eight analog input channels. Universal input accepts RTD, thermocouple, mV, mA and voltage without hardware jumpers. Per-channel cold-junction compensation for thermocouples. A/D conversion twenty-four-bit sigma-delta with programmable gain amplifier. Input isolation through digital isolators and isolated DC-DC converters. Sensor break and short-circuit detection with configurable alarm. Digital filtering and linearization per channel. Hot-swap support with automatic configuration restore where the system permits. Supply 24 V DC. Conformal-coated FR-4 PCB with 70 µm copper. Pluggable screw terminals, nickel-plated brass. DIN-rail mount. Front LEDs for power, communication and channel status.
Functional Features
Software-configured input type per channel. Cold-junction compensation for thermocouple inputs. Built-in open/short diagnostics. Linearization for standard RTD and thermocouple curves. Removable terminal block with finger-safe cover. Conformal coating for humidity, dust and corrosive environments.
Application Scenarios
Reactor, furnace and heat-exchanger temperature monitoring. Pressure, flow and level acquisition from 4–20 mA transmitters. Test-bench and environmental-chamber multi-sensor logging. Process skids and OEM machinery requiring flexible analog I/O.
Performance Parameters
Twenty-four-bit sigma-delta conversion. Universal 8-channel input. Per-channel CJC and diagnostics. Isolated input and backplane communication. 24 V DC module supply.
Material Composition
Flame-retardant ABS/PC blend housing where specified. FR-4 PCB with acrylic conformal coating. Nickel-plated brass screw terminals. Sigma-delta ADC with PGA. Digital isolators and isolated power stages.
Structural Characteristics
DIN-rail I/O module with grouped channel terminals. Keyed backplane connector. Front status LEDs and channel label strip. Removable finger-safe terminal block.
Working Principle
Each input passes through a programmable gain amplifier and anti-alias filter. The sigma-delta ADC digitizes the conditioned signal. The microcontroller applies gain, linearization, cold-junction compensation and filtering, then transmits scaled engineering values through the isolated backplane or fieldbus interface.
Installation Requirements
Mount on 35 mm DIN rail in a ventilated enclosure. Use shielded twisted-pair cable for all analog inputs and ground the shield at the controller end. Use thermocouple extension wire matching the thermocouple type. Keep analog wiring at least 200 mm from AC power and VFD cables. Verify stable 24 V DC supply with low ripple.
Usage Precautions
Do not apply more than ±30 V to any input channel. Configure each channel input type before field wiring. Use three-wire or four-wire RTD for highest accuracy; two-wire introduces lead resistance error. Calibrate periodically or after extreme environmental exposure. Isolate live field signals before removing or inserting the module if hot-swap is not enabled by the host system.
