Working Principle
Utilizes digital signal processing (DSP) to execute vector control algorithms. It regulates the three-phase output voltage and frequency based on commanded setpoints and feedback signals to achieve precise torque, speed, or position control. The drive manages the DC bus voltage and regenerates energy through an internal brake chopper (with external resistor support).
Installation Requirements
-
Mount vertically inside a grounded control cabinet with adequate clearance for airflow (top and bottom).
-
Connect 3-phase AC mains (L1, L2, L3) to power terminals; ensure correct earth ground.
-
Use shielded twisted pair cables for motor power and feedback, grounded at the drive end.
-
Connect 24V DC auxiliary power if required for logic (depending on configuration).
Usage Notes
-
S600 series is discontinued for new designs; verify spare part availability.
-
Peak current duration is limited (typically 5 sec); repeated overloading triggers thermal protection.
-
Configure motor parameters accurately via MotionLink software to prevent oscillation.
-
Overvoltage protection trips between 450V and 900V depending on bus conditions.
Applications
Retrofit of legacy machinery, printing presses, textile machines, packaging lines, woodworking equipment.
