Functional Features:

  • True multi-turn absolute position — retains position after power loss
  • Resolver-based interface for robust signal transmission in high-EMI environments
  • Hollow shaft design for direct motor shaft mounting
  • Battery-free operation — energy harvested from resolver excitation
  • High update rate of 10 kHz for fast servo loops

Structural Characteristics:

  • Compact cylindrical housing (Ø47 mm × 67 mm)
  • Hollow bore shaft for slip-ring or direct mounting
  • Sealed resolver stator and rotor assembly
  • Potting compound for vibration and shock resistance

Working Principle:
The encoder uses a precision optical or magnetic code disk with multi-track patterns. A resolver provides both position information and excitation power to the encoder electronics. The resolver’s sin/cos signals are demodulated to extract absolute position data. Multi-turn information is stored in non-volatile memory updated via a gear reduction mechanism linked to the shaft.

Key Advantages:

  • No battery required — eliminates maintenance and failure risk
  • Resolver interface provides superior EMI immunity vs. incremental encoders
  • 12-bit multi-turn covers 4096 revolutions without position loss
  • Direct drop-in replacement for resolver-based systems

Applicable Industries:

  • Servo motor position feedback
  • Robotics joint encoders
  • CNC axis feedback
  • Gantry and linear motor systems
  • Aerospace actuators

Installation Requirements:

  • Mount with coupling alignment ≤ 0.02 mm
  • Ensure resolver cable shield is grounded at drive end only
  • Verify resolver excitation signal is 2–8 Vpp, 2–20 kHz

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not exceed max speed of 8000 RPM
  • Avoid contamination inside hollow shaft bore
  • Do not disassemble — unit is not user-serviceable
